Koninklijke Gidsenbond

Brugge en West-Vlaanderen

'Bruges the Beautiful' is a predicate that Bruges has already carried high on its city banners for many years.

The historical inner city centre of Bruges was placed on the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) world heritage list in the year 2000. The authentic medieval street pattern, the winding 'reien' (picturesque waterways) and green tree lined outer city fortifications make Bruges a unique attraction.

Since 1926 we have allowed our visitors a chance to enjoy our local art and cultural heritage more deeply in a unique city in Flanders where one can make a journey from the Middle Ages to the present all within easy walking distance. As part of the services of the Royal Association of Guides, you can rely on graduated guides for guided tours in Bruges and the surrounding areas. We offer classical walking tours, thematic tours, museum tours and bicycle tours. Guides are available who speak the following languages: Dutch, French, German, English, Italian, Spanish and in limited availability guides who also speak Danish, Portuguese and Japanese.

Royal Association and Society membership

Whoever has a keen interest in the rich past of our city can also become a member of our organization. We organize winter readings, seasonal day trips and overnight excursions for our members. Additionally, you can utilize our exclusive library in which the city of Bruges is omnipresent.
