Between Orient and Occident - Guided walking tour as an introduction to or the
conclusion of a visit to the exposition ‘Van Eyck to Dürer‘
Between Orient and Occident takes you through the economical nerve-centre of Bruges in the late 15th Century. The commercial aspects between the City and the foreign consulates and lodges will be highlighted. Special attention will be given to the relations between the Hanseatic League, accommodated in the House of the Baltic Merchants , and the municipal authorities. The tour is also an excellent introduction to the Flemish Primitive Painters who lived mostly in the nearby painters’ quarter.
